Oliver Twizt made one of my favorite tracks of 2010 when he remixed Afrojacks’ “Polkadots” and it looks like he may have added his name to my favorites list for the second year in a row. This Dutch DJ (who isn’t a Dutch or Swedish DJ these days?) comes with some awesome drops. Wait for this track’s drop around the two-minute marker.

This track has been tearing up dancefloors across the world and comes at you from none other than the Brazilian duo Felguk. Comprised of Felipe Lozinsky and Gustavo Rozenthal, Felguk’s newest track puts their own spin on The Jungle Brothers lyrics “shake that body…I’ll house you” with their high-energy brand of electro house music. So what are you waiting for? Jack that body already.

SOFI is a greek minx who is rumored to have helped the Mau5 with his production. This track was my second favorite moment of his set last Friday, right behind Ghosts ‘N’ Stuff (which is probably the best live song ever played). Play this hard hitting electro-rap-rock jam and power through Humpday.
Following in the footsteps of the Beastie Boys Hoodie Allen stretches typical notions of acceptable aspirations for young Jewish boys from New York. Like his name the kid is a hybrid of styles with a dash of neurosis and hilarity, but finely polished thanks to his raw talent. At first it’s hard to tell if he’s just making fun of Franco here or paying homage, but like most things it’s probably somewhere in between. The song is great, but if you like watching fat kids eat ice cream then this video is especially for you. Download Hoodie’s new mixtape below, which includes this track and many more just as awesome.
I could care less that this track came out a couple months ago. I attended Escape From Wonderland this past weekend to celebrate Halloween and this was the track Benny Benassi opened with. I’ve atteneded a lot of raves and various electronic dance music festivals and I have to say this track absolutely takes the cake for best intro track to a set I have ever heard. Right from the beginning it sets the pace and energy for the night and couldn’t have been better suited for Halloween weekend. Dirtyloud, you are both firmly on my radar.

Some heavy hitters are rolling through the Los Angeles area.
The kids want techno. If this genre of EDM is your cup of tea and you aren’t familiar with Gesaffelstein, then I suggest you get to know this young, French producer quickly. His dark, slow chugging style of French techno has the music world drooling at the moment. His music is so dark that when I listen to it I think he just needs a hug. But please, don’t give him one if you ever meet him. Here is his take on Duck Sauce’s “Big Bad Wolf.” The track really finds it’s footing around the 2-minute marker. Perfect for a Halloween night!
He’s playing at the Key Club in Los Angeles 01/14/12. Don’t miss his set.
