BOYS NOIZE – OiOiOi

By in Daily, Spotlight

Boys Noize, a German born Alexander Ridha, just uploaded his first full-length album to SoundCloud for your streaming pleasure (initial release in 2007 via BNR).  This is a mandatory listen ladies and gentlemen; as you’ll hear the guy was predicting the progression of EDM and doing it well.  As one of the pioneers of power-grunge infused dance tracks he paved the way for the likes of Mord Fustang and Popeska, while maintaining an elegance in his production usually reserved for math folks like Deadmau5.  Boys Noize has continued to progress and is churning out more innovative music than ever so check out his new stuff too.

Truthfully, I know nothing about Analogue Sound Department. But what I do know is that I tend to come across amazing tracks such as this one around the 2:30am mark. How is that? Click on the “Full Download” link to listen to (and obviously download) the club edit version. Continue reading…

Zoo Brazil – Selected

By in Daily

When I hear techno as savvy as this new Zoo Brazil track I have to take a minute and laugh at all the ignorant people who go, “You listen to techno? Unce, unce, unce…,” while giving you a fist pump. This track is damn good, especially beginning at the 1.15 marker. Continue reading…

Video: Flight Facilities – With You feat. Grovesnor

By in Daily, Videos

As promised, the official video and full-length release of the latest collaboration between Flight Facilities and Hot Chip drummer Grovesnor.  The track has a minimalistic sophistication that feels like some of the more subdued Daft Punk productions, especially when coupled with the Leiji Matsumoto / Interstella style animation.  Cop the original or remix of your choice on Beatport (that Dave August edit is spectacular).

Anthony Atcherley just released his second major production after the hugely successful Paris Baby! EP.  Inside you’ll find four original tracks and a stellar remix by Butyreux, but my favorite has to be the super fun discofied Steel. Continue reading…

Video: Cyberpunkers – Epic

By in Videos

Ok this video is completely ridiculous and over the top, but such is the genre.  I for one have always wished my gaming skills translated to real-world badassery so I’d be lying if I said the concept here wasn’t a little intriguing, but more than anything the song is just great. Continue reading…

Anthony Seeha – Live Mixing With Two Nintendo DS and the KORG DS-10+ App

By in Spotlight

Kids these days.  17 year old Anthony Seeha claims that if he were to ever play a live set (and I have a feeling he will) he would use his double DS setup, which he says is “quite handy, and a lot of fun.” Continue reading…

Instituto Mexicano del Sonido – México

By in Daily

How this prime-time audio has eluded me thus far I’ll never know, but The Mexican Institute of Sound (Camilo Lara) won’t slip through the cracks any more.  You’ll hear “the sound of old Mexican cumbias, boleros and mariachi tunes scrambled with samples, effects and beats, from lounge music to funk to low-budget beat boxes,” meandering along like a sweaty beach-walker on a stifling summer day. Continue reading…
